A Time of Rest
Whew! You made it through Easter. It was glorious. There’s nothing better than a post-Easter nap and time off. I send this note with a prayer for all of us who lift up Christ that we find rest body and soul.
So, I pass along a little note written and then spoken over the BBC by C.S. Lewis in 1942. He was speaking to a haggard nation, but his words still encourage us and reminds us of our imperishable body. “Christianity is almost the only one of the great religions which thoroughly approvs of the body – which believes that matter is good, that God Himself once took on a human body, that some kind of body is going to be given to us even in Heaven and is going to be an essential part ofour happines, our beauty, and our energy.” May you find rest for the body and beauty for the soul. Presbyterian Night at the Sodpoodles
The new Amarillo Minor League Baseball team, The Sodpoodles, will have a home game on Sunday, June 30 at 6:05p.m. Let’s get a bunch of Area 1 Presbyterians together to enjoy the game and one another! (Presbys from other areas of Palo Duro are, of course, welcome to join the fun!) Tickets will cost $10 and must be reserved by May 30th. Each congregation is asked to tell Janell Blair how many tickets to reserve for their church by May 30! (Each church can decide who gets their reserved seats).
