Scholarship Applications Open for 2025 APCE Annual Event

Early Bird Registration for the 2025 APCE Annual Event is open!  As a part of our newly begun Better Together for Christ strategic plan, Palo Duro Presbytery is offering up to five scholarships of $1000 each to assist with costs associated with conference attendance.  Read below for the details and important links.

Palo Duro Presbytery Friends, greetings in the name of Christ our Lord.  If you were present at the stated presbytery meeting in Lubbock the last Saturday in September, you heard about one of the initiatives aimed at developing and enhancing leadership in the presbytery through our newly-begun Better Together for Christ strategic plan.  The Association of Partners in Christian Education Annual Event (APCE AE) offers stellar keynote speakers, inspiring and creative worship, nearly seventy workshops on every area of Christian formation, and opportunities for fellowship and connection, all fashioned for pastors, commissioned pastors, Christian educators, youth ministry workers, and volunteers (definitely volunteers!).  With APCE’s six partner denominations under the Reformed theological umbrella, it’s the premier conference for those engaged in guiding and shaping Christ-followers at all stages of life and faith development.  Our Palo Duro folk who have attended this annual event eagerly testify to its worth and the value of investing in participation.  See https://apcenet.org/2025-annual-event/ to learn all about the Annual Event.

To help our PDP people get to the conference, which will be held January 29-February 1, 2025, at Memphis’ famous *Peabody Hotel, up to five scholarships of $1,000.00 each are available to assist with costs associated with conference attendance (APCE membership, registration fee, hotel, transportation, etc.).  These scholarships, a component of Better Together for Christ, are awarded on a reimbursable basis:  recipients will submit receipts for conference-associated expenses and be reimbursed up to a total $1,000.00.  The timeframe for application is short, as the Early Bird Conference registration fee ends November 14, and scholarship recipients will be notified prior to this so that they may take advantage of the lowest possible registration fee (based on APCE membership, which is also eligible for reimbursement).  *See the children’s book Make Way for Ducklings—the duck parade happens twice daily!
