Ministry Grant Application Is Open: Let’s Support What God’s Doing

Each year, Palo Duro Presbytery sets aside funds to support mission and ministry being carried out by the churches of our presbytery.  These grants are one small but meaningful way we can live into our calling as a connectional church—supporting one another and joining together in service to our neighbors.

For 2026, Palo Duro Presbytery has $15,000 available to support mission projects connected to the ministry of our congregations.

There are two ways a congregation may apply for these funds:

  1. The church may apply for a grant for its own mission work.
If the funds will remain within your congregation and be used directly for a mission project of the church, the congregation should complete and submit the attached application.
  2. The church may seek funding for an organization it supports.
A Session may forward the application to an organization whose work supports the church’s mission goals and for which the church wishes to seek presbytery funding.  The Session should determine which organizations or ministries it wishes to endorse and may distribute the application accordingly.

For applications in either category, please keep the following in mind:

  • An endorsement letter from the Session should accompany the application when it is submitted to the presbytery office.
  • If the application is submitted on behalf of an outside organization, the congregation must have an established financial commitment to support that organization.
  • If a grant is approved for an outside organization, the funds will be sent to the congregation, which will then forward the funds to the designated organization.

We hope to distribute the approved grants by the end of 2026.

The deadline for applications is noon on December 7, 2026. Because we need to complete the review and distribution process in a timely manner, late applications cannot be accepted.

We are grateful for the many ways our churches are serving their communities. These grants are an opportunity for us to strengthen that work together and to celebrate the ways God is already at work through the people and congregations of Palo Duro Presbytery.

If you have questions about the application or the process, please CCE SarahLee Morris or Elder Sherie Alldredge, Co-Moderators of the Common Life Ministry.

Thank you for your faithful ministry and for the ways you continue to serve your neighbors in Christ’s name.

In 2025, First Presbyterian Church Canyon received a Ministry Support Grant from Palo Duro Presbytery to help support The Market on Tierra Blanca, a ministry serving the Canyon community. This was one of twelve grants awarded to PDP churches last year, helping congregations strengthen and extend the ministry already happening in their communities.
